My First Dinner!

After working with Eight at Eight for about two months now, hosting the dinners and getting to know a few members, I finally sat at my first dinner this weekend! I must say, I was pretty jittery over meeting and eating with seven new people for the first time. Major props to those who do it every week (although I'm sure it gets easier over time, or for those who are super outgoing)!

Dinner at Strip in Atlantic Station was great; the atmosphere was fun and hip, with dim lights and a pretty big crowd for a Thursday. We ended up getting there way too early to meet the first two groups (I dined with the third), so they let us hang around for a while until they started showing up. As it got closer and closer to 8:15, I was excited but also anxious. I had never done anything like this before (plus as the intern, I didn't want to make Eight at Eight look bad to my table)!

After all the anticipation...I had a great time. I met awesome people, all around my age (and good-looking), and we had a great time. I feel like I was laughing the whole time- funny crowd! Even made a great new girl friend to go out with, and as a pretty new Atlanta resident I totally felt like I made new friends. So now, I've seen it from the other side. And want to go again! I can not only be a proponent for Eight at Eight on the basis of hearing others' experiences, but now I've had my own. I can now say with full conviction, it is such a good time and an awesome way to get to know great people and restaurants in your area.
