However, text messaging should supplement, not supplant, your dating communications. You cannot get to know someone on an intimate level within a 140 character limit, and nothing can replace time spent, memories made and affection shared. The shorthand text language also opens relationships to serious misunderstandings. Again, open, honest (face to face, if possible) two-way communication, even if old-fashioned, is still the best way to get closer with a potential life partner.
