Meet the Eight at Eight Hostess: Emily in Atlanta

Atlantans are lucky to have Emily, who has been a host for Eight at Eight Dinner Club since 2000. Her feedback regularly includes praises like the one below:

"Hey guys,

I had a great time at *** last night. I really enjoyed meeting *** and *** and chatted freely with them all evening.  *** handles himself great and is a great ambassador for 8@8.  You can put me at a table with him every time...We invited the other tables and went a block over to a bar for a few drinks afterwards.  All in all a fun group and a fun evening. But the highlight of the evening was getting to see Emily.  She's as sweet as can be.

See you at the next event."

She sounds like a rock star to us! We sat down and interviewed our peachy Southern Belle/ Rockstar Hostess to hear about love & life:

The Singles Scoreboard: Thanks so much for hangin' with us Emily!

Emily: Oh, sure thing. I'm very flattered!

SSB: As you should be - you have pages of feedback citing you as the catalyst to a fantastic dinner party.

Emily: Well, thank you! I can't say enough that the pleasure is always mine.

SSB: The feelings are mutual it seems. What keeps you on top of your hosting game?

Emily: My "game"? (Giggling) First of all, I have no such thing. If I did, my two-year old son would insist on eating his veggies.

SSB: Maybe your toddler should try cooking for himself, and see if he can't appreciate those greens a bit more.

Emily: Ha! (Shaking her head and smiling). I think I'll help him for a couple more years before I let him handle that department.

SSB: (laughing)...And back to analyzing your hosting game!

Emily: Oh, yes. It's really just that every person that I meet through 8at8 is so interesting! I love that every time I host, I get to learn about a variety of new things, thanks to our clients' unique interests and lives. It's incredibly fun for me, so I am pleasantly surprised by this kind of feedback. Thank you clients!

SSB: Well, we think you're a rock star too. You're extremely busy between motherhood and hosting events. What else is on your plate at the moment?

Emily: I have a young son, so I have my hands full with him most of the time, and I'm a part time fundraiser for Bitsy Grant Tennis Center.

SSB: And based on your tenure with Eight at Eight Dinner Club, what is some friendly advice for all the singles out there?

Emily: Smile! The most approachable person is the one that is smiling and looks friendly. Always ask questions of the other person -- people love to talk about themselves.

SSB: Well said! We like smiling singles too.

Emily: I agree!

SSB: Last question of the night: If you were in Eight at Eight Dinner Club as a single lady, which restaurant would you frequent the most?

Emily: Anywhere that serves good sushi and drinks. I’ve tried making my own sushi and have realized that it is better just to eat it at a restaurant. I'm always up for a glass of wine or a good Belgian beer too!

SSB: And who could disagree? Thanks so much for your time Emily!

Emily: You’re very welcome. Thank you!
